Naja Conrad-Hansen is an illustrator and designer living and working in Copenhagen, Denmark. She has illustrated for advertisements, magazines, books, products and apparel. She has been nominated and selected for Lürzer’s archive 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide four times in a row.
She was born in Copenhagen, though as a child spent time in Greece, Egypt, Finland and Berlin, among other places. She graduated with a MA in Visual Communication from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2003. Within the same year, she had begun working as a fulltime illustrator.
With a keen knowledge of future fashion, textile design and print, she has earned her reputation as a fashion artist. She has worked with numerous clients in the industry including Louis Vuitton, Fiorucci, Ralph Lauren, Cosmopolitan, Max Mara, Hugo Boss Black, Elle, Vanity Fair, and many more.
Aside from her commercial endeavours, her illustrations have been featured in over 30 art books. Her personal illustrations and paintings have been exhibited worldwide in group and solo shows. And more recently, she has begun painting live at events.
Her work encompasses illustration, painting, and graphic design. Working in a range of mediums she draws with pencil and ink, paints in watercolour and oil, and collages photo both traditionally and digitally. Her inspirations are varied too, mixed in equal parts from fashion, hardcore music, fine art and design. Though most importantly, her inspirations come from observing the world around her. Both her style and her ongoing collaborations with fellow creatives are propelled by attempting to stimulating both the eye and imagination.
