Jessica Singh is a Berlin-based freelance illustrator originally from Perth, Western Australia. Her fantastical illustrations explore themes of feminine power with characters enclosed in vibrant patterns and plenty of subtle details.
Singh grew up in Perth, Western Australia. She moved to London, England to study at the prestigious fashion college, Central St Martins College of Art and Design. She graduated in 2009 with a BA in Graphic Design specialising in Illustration.
Her use of pattern, colour and themes of spirituality are heavily influenced by her Indian and America heritage, and deep fascination with Japanese culture.
Singh works in a combination of both tradition and digital media; using gouache, palomino pencils, a wacom and Photoshop. She can often see the image in her mind and likes to work quickly to capture it, not loosing the feel of the piece.
Her contemporary and colourful illustrations have attracted clients including Facebook, Nike, MTV, Samsung and the Singapore Tourism Board.
