Roland, the Illustrator got in contact with us to let us know of his recently completed personal project, Suspicion. What started as a simple warm up/down exercise, quickly became much more. Roland ended up designing and making a fully self-contained card game based on the board game Cluedo. A total of 40 unique cards, a box, counters and new rules were created. However with the kicker that Roland had, and still has, no intentions to make the cards available for purchase. It was all in the name of self-improvement and a neat mail out.

Roland, originally from London, England, studied Foundation Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design, Fine art at the University of the Arts London, and then went on to completed a master’s degree in Games Design at Liverpool John Moores University. After graduating, he worked at The Creative Assembly for five years before deciding to become a freelance Illustrator and Concept Artist. He has since relocated to Utrecht, Netherlands.

Multi-skilled, Roland has experience in games, print and animation production. He has a bright eye-catching style that he varies depending on the project. Using different techniques to get the look and feel he needs.

Thanks for getting in touch Roland! If you would like to share some illustration news or recommend a website (even if it’s your own ) then head over to our contact page. We would love to hear from you.
