Ayala Tal is a freelance illustrator based in Tel Aviv, Israel. She creates sophisticated digital collages that have been published in the Israeli Institute of Technology magazine, the International Journal of Gynecologist, Ha’aretz newspaper, and Lidové Noviny newspaper.
She studied Illustration at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. She graduated in 2005, and in 2007 began working as an in-house illustrator for the Israeli business magazine, The Marker. Tal decided to transition to a freelancer in 2012, and in 2015 started a Master degree in Arts at Tel Aviv University.
Tal’s work uses flat colours and subtle textures. Often the focal point is dead centre, which gives her pieces a sense of stillness and calm. Yet, the abstract combination of elements causes a compelling, and often comical juxtaposition.
