The Tale of Kitty-in-Boots
House of Illustration, London, 2 September 2016 – 5 Febuary 2017

An exhibition of Quentin Blake’s original illustrations for The Tale of Kitty-in-Boots, the recently re-discovered unpublished Beatrix Potter manuscript. The exhibition will feature Blake’s 50 illustrations for the book, a sketchbook and reference material. It will also contain the original Beatrix Potter manuscript and one of Potter’s only two illustrations for the book, on loan from the V&A. Find out more here.
A Retrospective: RALPH STEADMAN
The Society of Illustrators, New York – September 06 – October 22 2016

The Society of Illustrators is pleased to present a major retrospective to celebrate the work and career of iconic artist Ralph Steadman. This special exhibition will cover three floors of galleries and is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the public to view a collection of his groundbreaking pieces spanning his 50 year career. An Opening Reception to the public will take place on Friday, September 9, 2016.
On September 10, 2016 2:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. Cartoon Museum director/curator Anita O’Brien will take guests through the work, career and creative practice of iconic artist Ralph Steadman. Find out more here.
Luke Pearson in Conversation

One of the UK’s most beloved kids cartoonists, Gary Northfield will be talking with Luke Pearson about Hilda, his creative process, the upcoming Hilda animation (as much as he’s allowed to). It’s a not to be missed chance to peek into one of UK comics’ most verdant creative minds. And a chance to get a copy of our Hilda & the Stone Forest exclusive bookplate edition, of course!

Drop-in Drawing
National Portrait Gallery, London, Every Friday

Every Friday there is a free drop-in drawing activity happening in the National Portrait Gallery. Join artist Robin-Lee Hall for our popular weekly drawing session in the Gallery. There is a short introduction at 18.30 but feel free to drop in whenever you like. You can stay for 10 minutes or 2 hours. The class is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to accomplished artists. All materials are provided, so no need to bring anything with you. Find out more here.
