INKtober 2016
International, Throughout October 2016

31 Days 31 Drawings. Every October, artists all over the world take on the INKtober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. INKtober was created by artist Jake Parker in 2009 as a challenge to improve inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. You can find out more on the INKtober Facebook page.
The Big Draw Festival 2016
International, Throughout October 2016

The Big Draw Festival is the world’s largest celebration of drawing, which takes place from 1 to 31 October, every year. Following a high-profile launch at the Bodleian Libraries in Oxford, last year, thousands of The Big Draw Festival events took place in 26 countries on 7 continents. Highlight events will be taking place at The Whitworth, Manchester, and Royal Society, London, with the aim of demonstrating the important role of arts, especially visual literacy and drawing, alongside and within science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects.
Bristol Comic and Zine Fair 2016

The Bristol Comic and Zine Fair celebrates the world of DIY and independent publishing. The fair brings together artists, writers, and publishers from across Bristol and further afield for a one-day market. Find out more on their Facebook page.
The Lakes International Comic Art Festival 2016
Kendal, Lake District, 14 – 16 October 2016

The Lakes International Comic Art Festival takes over the town of Kendal, on the edge of the Lake District. The Festival features international comic artists and creators, as well as live drawing, film, exhibitions, comic trails, workshops, performance, master classes, free Family Zone and independent publishers. Illustrative 16
Illustrative e. V., Berlin, 14 – 23 October 2016

Now in its 10th year, the Illustrative Biennale of Illustration and Graphic Arts has grown to behemoth proportions with exhibitions, panel discussions and parties. The Biennale has opened up the exhibitions to the world of new illustration from across the globe and invited visitors to come along for the show. The Festival runs for ten days in October. As the main hub, the Direktorenhaus and Villa Elisabeth were housing installations and talks in Berlin, Espace Commines in Paris and the fair halls in Zurich.
Celebrating 40 Years of Aardman Animations
Illustration Cupboard, London, ENDS 23 October 2016

To celebrate 40 years of this most iconic of film studios, the Illustration Cupboard Gallery is delighted to present a one-off exhibition celebrating four decades of Aardman’s animation production, design, creativity and cracking characters. The exhibitions ends 23 October 2016.
