Evon Freeman

Evon Freeman is a character designer and storyboard artist. Currently at Walt Disney Animation Studios she is working as a prop and effects designer on Daron Nefcy’s Star and the Forces of Evil. Prior to Disney, Freeman worked at Nickelodeon Animation Studios on the TV series The Legend of Korra and Monsters VS. Aliens. She was also the character designer and storyboard artist for the Korra prequel web series Republic City Hustle.

Freeman’s journey into the world of art is actually rather unique. Her interest was bred out of boredom and circumstance. Spending quite a lot of time in Taiwan as a child and unable to play outside due to it extremely humid summers. Freeman bought some how-to-draw books and started doodling. In High School she took all the art classes she could, pottery, photography, art, and computer graphics. Then went on to study graphic design and multimedia at California State University-East Bay. After landing a job at Electronic Arts she applied for the Visual Development program at the Academy of Art. Freeman’s inspiring thirst to learn and grow is not slowing down either, she has also been taking storyboarding classes at the Concept Design Academy.

The best place to see more of Evon Freeman is her regularly updated Tumblr, but you can also find more of her work on Blogger and DeviantArt.
