Pinocchio by Winshluss is award winning adaptation of the famous Carlo Collodi story blew me away as soon as I held it in my hands. The book feels quite substantial in hardback, which is why I couldn’t wait to open it up.
It is a really dark take on the tale, with Geppetto the inventor of weapon-of-war Pinocchio, the black and white ‘Jiminy Cockroach’ episodes depicting Jiminy as an out-of-work writer…and Snow White’s escape from the seven dwarves, who sexually abuse her (need I say more?).
Actually, it is very humorous all the way through despite its content. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you do, too.
