Bill Sanderson studied Illustration and Graphic Design at the West of England College of Art from 1966. His early commissions were editorial, for The Times, Time Out and the Radio Times. In the late 1970s he added advertising and publishing to his portfolio. He is part of a talented generation that grew up in the 1970s and he has continued working till today. Bill Sanderson’s work is almost exclusively done with scraperboard, with which he produces both black and white and full colour artwork.

He has won many awards for book cover design and his book work includes a series of Penguin covers for the novels of Anthony Burgess in the 1980s, Harry Harrison and Felix Dennis. His art can also be seen in the latest Tolkein; The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun.
