  1. In Their Own Words – Roman Klonek

    Roman Klonek is an illustrator specialising in woodcuts. His bright and bizarre illustrations are a mix of cartoons, folklore and Pop art. Whimsical humanoids and creatures fill the boards, sometimes provoking amusement, sometimes discomfort, and sometimes both. Roman shares with us his artistic influences, creative process and professional path.

  2. Andreas Deja

    Andreas Deja is an animator and the genius behind some of your favourite Disney villains. Born 1957, in Gdansk, Poland, he and his family moved to Dinslaken, Germany, in 1958. When he was eleven years old he watched Disney’s Jungle Book for the first time. Its impact was instant and everlasting, right after seeing the movie, Deja was inspired to become an animator. Around the age of fourteen he began to attend life drawing classes and frequently go to the zoo to study the animals and their movement. Following a short stint in the army, he spent three years studying graphic design at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany.

  3. Ewa Ludwiczak

    We have a real mixed bag of styles and media from today’s feature, Ewa Ludwiczak. Born in Poland and currently living in Berlin, Ms Ludwiczak is a freelance illustrator specialising in tradition materials, in particular watercolours.

  4. Jakub Rebelka

    Jakub Rebelka is a Polish freelance illustrator and comic creator. Born 1981 into a family of artist, when Mr Rebelka was 15 years old, he received the Junior Grand Prix at the Polish International Comic Festival. In 2002 publishers Kultura Gniewu released his first comic book, Doctor Bryan, to positive reviews.

  5. Emilia Dziubak

    There is lovely warmth to Emilia Dziubak’s illustrations. Her children’s books are beautiful, and she’s even created a children’s cook book! I am totally smitten by her work and am sure many of you will be too. I had such a tough time picking some of my favourite illustrations to share with you; I highly recommend visiting her blog or Behance page.
