KawaiiHannah is an Australia based manga artist. She creates some very cute illustrations full of beautiful, vibrant colours. She is also a brilliant pixel artist, so there’s a very generous-sized gallery of animated gifs to browse through, if you like that sort of thing.

Anastasia is a Russian ‘hobbyist’ with a cute, rather polished style. She has some great pixel work for show in her gallery, as well as her traditional illustrations. It’s a shame I couldn’t find more information about her, but you can see more of her work. So it’s not all bad…

Sergey is a freelance illustrator from Russia. He creates some nice digital art, but his best work is probably his pixel art. He creates a lot of artwork for games, but some of his advertising pieces for clients are brilliant, full of incredible details. His clients include Sberbank, Megafon, Mars, GQ and Forbes.

    Manga Mondays ~ Bananamantis

USA based Bananamantis creates brilliant fantasy style pixel characters. There is a mixture of Pokémon, My Little Pony and various other franchises amongst her work, as well as loads of original characters. I’ve always found pixel art amazing. It’s fascinating to see how creative you can get within the restrictions of the pixel grid. This is an artform that was created out of necessity, as technology moved onto computer screens. Now that we have moved on from that visual language, as screens have much higher resolutions and can take in much more detailed imagery it is great to see so many people online still taking up this art form. Visit Banamantis’ Deviant Art page here for more of her excellent pixel work.
