Vincent Roché

Vincent Roché is a graphic artist and an illustrator based in Paris, France. He was working as an Art Director for five years before deciding to become a freelancer full-time. He has since accumulated an impressive client list including Nike, Microsoft, ARTE and AQKA.

Inspired by games, film, and literature, Roché is known for his pop and geek culture posters. You may recognise his The Island of Doctor Moreau poster, which circled the internet earlier this year.

Roché’s work is all about restraint. Clear black foregrounds contrast solid coloured backgrounds. Limiting his palette to two or three colours and making excellent use of silhouette and negative space. Leaving out the fuss, he includes enough information to make the image easily readable and engaging.

If you are looking for a fun way to kill an hour of your day, check out The Walking Geek. A browser-based old school arcade video game developed by Roché, l’Attrape Geeks and Flaq Digital. It is fun and addictive, just watch out for the boss, Chuck Norris.
